The Challenger Division provides an opportunity for disabled children through age 21 to experience the Little League baseball dream.  We currently have thirteen players on the Challenger Team for the 2002 season.  Please call or email the division director if you would like to participate.

Games

All games are at Thaiss (Pickett) field on Sundays from 1:00 - 2:30.  Our season starts on Opening Day, April 21, and ends on June 17.  The Challenger Team plays a different team each Sunday as Springfield Challenger sends over an opposing team every weekend.  There is no game on May 20 when the Challenger Team attends a family picnic hosted by the Springfield Challenger Division.  Closing ceremonies begin after the final season game on June 17.

Buddy System

Major League teams and the Challenger Team are partnered together for games throughout the season.  The buddy system allows one-on-one contact with a challenger player and major league player for double the fun!

Challenger Tournament

The Fairfax Little League Challenger Division will participate in the annual Challenger Tournament held on Mother's Day weekend.  Virginia Beach hosts the Challenger Tournament on Mother's Day each year, and teams from all over the United States attend.  Fairfax Little League covers the expenses for the team and their families to attend this exciting tournament play.
