Event: PHILADELPHIA
April, 1995

In April, 1995, men and women from Philadelphia and New York City gathered in Philadelphia to bring attention to the human rights issues surrounding routine infant circumcision. Most of the pediatricians they talked to were supportive and understanding. A few were extremely hostile and rude. One pediatrician from the Philadelphia area stated she did not approve of routine circumcision, but was pressured into doing them by other physicians.

Below an Intactivist reads the consent form to a mother while an infant screams.

Below, while infants scream, demonstrators participate in profitable assembly line circumcisions.
At the end of the day several demonstrators relaxed at the Reading Terminal Market and discussed the day's activities.

If you live in the mid-Atlantic area and would like to become more involved with this human rights issue, let us know.
